Production Manager
The production manager is responsible for production-related communication flow and coordination between all company resources. This includes accountability for staffing, administration, production, quality, materials, equipment, schedule, cost, safety, housekeeping and the financial performance of the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage the production department personnel.
- Explain and direct production activities and establish production priorities.
- Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
- Implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operation problems and to improve product quality.
- Work with human resources to establish and maintain corporate policies and manage overall headcount according to the budget and sales.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and discipline; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
- Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
- Consult with engineering relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products, or when developing new lines for a new product.
- Manages special projects as requested by the General Manager.
- Frequent communication with all levels of management, corporate support groups, Quality Assurance, and plant personnel.
- Responsible for related safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing management, a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 8 plus years of experience, or equivalent.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and on the plant floor.
