Tube Mill Operator
Position Summary
The Tube Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used to manufacture metal tubing. This position ensures production efficiency, product quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Set up and operate tube mill equipment to produce metal tubing according to specifications.
- Perform machine adjustments and tooling changes to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure materials are loaded correctly and monitor material flow through the mill.
- Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Basic math and computer skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience operating a tube mill or similar roll-forming equipment preferred
Competencies
- Knowledge of cutting, forming, milling, grinding, assembly, tool steel composition, tool sharpening, hardness testing, machine repair and setup, and metal fabrication.
- Skilled in operating metrology instruments, grinders, mills, lathes, drill presses, optical comparators, and EDM machines.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Licensure and Certifications
Forklift or crane certification preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Regularly works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metal materials. Use of PPE is required (gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.).
Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and use hands for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
